FORGET faddy breakfasts that keep you lean and famished . . . Farmhouse Breakfast Week is upon us again from January 19 to 25 so it is the perfect excuse for a fantastic feed.
You can savour the gastronomic delights of this traditional English meal at the Plume of Feathers, Okehampton, on January 21 because landlord Nigel Knight is all in favour of promoting local food.
He agreed to lay on this breakfast bonanza after being approached by Derek Godfrey-Brown who organises the Okehampton Farmers? Market.
Mr Godfrey-Brown said:?We did it at the Plume in October to promote Devon Food ? and we have been doing the St George?s Breakfast in April at the Plume for a number of years now,? he said.
The Farmhouse Breakfast will begin with fruit juice, move on to a choice of cereals before the main course of eggs, bacon, sausage , mushrooms, sauté potatoes and fried bread followed by toast and marmalade washed down by tea or coffee . . .
Mr Godfrey-Brown said bookings for the breakfast would be appreciated ? ?but we will accept someone if their saliva glands get the better of them at the time!?
