MARGARET Green Animal Rescue’s third annual triathlon took place recently to put participants through their paces and raise money for rescued animals.

The participants took part in either a walk, horse-ride or cycle and one brave challenger went for all three!

The three part challenge started at 10am with a five mile walk from the rescue centre near Tavistock and finished at Peter Tavy.

This was followed by a six- mile horse ride and a 14-mile cycle ride.

Alan and Niki, who manage Margaret Green Animal Rescue’s Wingletang Centre, said: ‘It was fantastic to see so many people taking part on Sunday. It means even more to us as the charity is celebrating 50 years of animal rescue this year.

‘We would like to say a huge thank you to all the people who came to our triathlon event as well as those who sponsored it. A huge thank you to Chris and Jo Wordingham who run the Peter Tavy Inn as well as Rentafford of Tavistock who donated us the use of their mini bus for the day which was vital for helping us transport people and dogs.’
