SEARCHING for nuts which have been nibbled by dormice on Dartmoor is among the tasks new volunteers for the Devon Wildlife Trust may find themselves involved with.

The charity, which relies heavily on volunteers, is appealing for more people to give up their time to help with a range of different projects across the county.

Volunteer co-ordinator Dawn Lenn said: ?It doesn?t have to be about going out and getting muddy ? people do, but most don?t.

?People volunteer for many different reasons, but they tell me it?s good work experience, it?s a good way of meeting others with similar interests and people who are keen on wildlife get a lot of satisfaction from helping preserve it.?
