YEAR 1 and 2 pupils at Horrabridge Primary School have been having fun learning to read with TRUGs (Teaching Reading Using Games).
The programme, created by Joanna Jeffrey, is a card game that promotes and develops reading skills in a fun and interactive way. Headteacher John Clarke said: 'We've had 25 children engaged in the programme this term. We assessed the reading age at the start of the term and again at the end of the term and the reading age was much higher than without the programme.'
