AN?8ft inflatable pig, used to promote a new health centre in Bere Alston, was stolen on Saturday night.

The pig (shown right)?was on the site of the old pig sheds adjacent to West View Care Home, where the aptly named 'Trotters' opened its doors to people aged 55 and over and others who have special medical reasons for needing to stay fit.

Anyone who has seen the pig or knows its whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference number JT/13/894. The owners Trevor and Jenny Atkinson are offering a reward for information leading to the pig's return.

Those who attended the open day rowed on the water rower a distance of 20km to raise £165 for Power Pack, a local charity that supports young physically challenged people with equipment and experiences.
