Tavistock parish church last Sunday warmly thanked Lesley Morris, who stepped down as churchwarden after six years in the post.

She was presented with flowers and jewellery by director of music at the church, Dr Sean Sweeney, pictured .

Canon Michael Ridley, who had taken the service that morning, said: 'We'll enormously miss Lesley's expertise, her unflappable nature, and her cheerfulness.

'Happily, she's still going to be around to help out when needed.'

The new churchwarden to join existing churchwarden Cathy Sherlock, is Dr Sean Sweeney.
