A TELEVISION crew will be filming at the Whitchurch and Sampford Spiney Sheepdog Trials this month, for a series to be shown on Channel 5. The crew will be filming for a programme about a working sheepdog growing up and competing in sheepdog trials in the countryside, with a swarming crowd to watch. The trials will take place on Saturday, August 26 at Birchy Farm, Caseytown, Whitchurch by kind permission of Mr T Cox. There will be classes for Novice Maltese Cross, Open Maltese Cross and Open Drive. More than 50 handlers have entered to date. There will also be children?s games, snacks and charity stalls from 9am, with a family dog show starting at 1.30pm. Prizegiving takes place at approximately 6pm. Admission is £2 for adults, children free, with free parking.
