THE Fortescue Garden House Lecture, held this year on April 4, will be given by the curator of Tresco Abbey Garden.

Mike Nelhams will give the lecture, held at the Plymouth Post Graduate Medical Centre at Derriford Hospital, focusing on the history of Tresco's unique coastal and oceanic climatic conditions which enables the world-wide collections of Mediterranean plants to flourish.

The Fortescue Garden Trust is a registered charity which owns and manages the Garden House in Buckland Monachorum, and the lecture is this year sponsored by Brewin Dolphin in Plymouth.

The lecture will start at 7pm.
