A DOUSLAND pensioner was pleased to have raised more than £200 at a recent street collection in Tavistock.

Roger Mechan organised the street collection earlier this month and residents and visitors to the town contributed £214 in aid of St Luke’s Hospice.

Roger has now added this to his total fundraising over the last six years of £16,200 for St Luke’s Hospice and £9,200 for Help for Heroes.

The most recent trek took place last month, where Roger walked 150 sponsored miles along the pilgrim routes of northern Spain. He has trekked a total of 2,150 miles over the last six years.
