AN Okehampton family raised £1,900 when they took part in a walk for a charity that has a great significance for them.
The Jordan family, along with other walkers, took part in the trek from Okehampton Station to the Fox and Hounds at Sourton on Sunday, June 13.
A cheque was presented to charity, HeartSWell, based at Derriford Hospital, to help towards a 3D heart scanner machine which will cost £97,000.
The walk was led by David Jordan, who one year to the day of the event had undergone major heart surgery at Derriford.
The family expressed thanks to the consultants and all the staff at the cardiac unit at Derriford Hospital.
