THE ancient St Andrew's Church in Calstock is set to be filled with Christmas spirit this month with the village's first ever Christmas Tree Festival.

Over three days, visitors will be invited to go along and enjoy some creative and uniquely decorated Christmas trees. The festival organisers were delighted that many local clubs, voluntary groups and businesses in the Calstock Parish came forward to show off their organisation. Some fun, quirky and stylish displays are promised.

St Andrew's Church, at the top of Church Lane, will be open from Friday, December 12 to Sunday, December 14 between 11am and 4pm each day. Warming home-made refreshments will be available and visitors will have the chance to vote for their favorite tree.

On Saturday, December 13, from 3pm, the church's ad hoc community choir will be singing seasonal songs and carols. Entry is by donation.
