VANDALS have struck again at Tavistock's festive decorations.
Last Saturday night the Round Table's Christmas tree in St Eustachius' churchyard was damaged.
The Times last week reported several attacks on the Christmas lights in Paddon's Row.
John Emptage, vice-chairman of Tavistock Round Table, said the vandals seem to have yanked hard on a rope supporting the power cable to the lights, tearing off the top of the tree.
'It's now about five feet shorter than it was — there are bulbs missing and branches broken,' he said. 'We've had a tree up there for years and this is the first time anyone can recall it happening.
'It's going to take us a couple of hours' work to get it back into shape. It's very annoying — we're asking ourselves if it's worth doing it again.'
