Lydford Parish Council has thanked the community for making a tree hub event such a success.
The council organised the event to give away native tree saplings in the Nicholls Hall as part of the Saving Devon’s Treescapes project by Devon Wildlife Trust.
Clerk to the council John Bright said: ‘In the space of just under 90 minutes 220 tree saplings were collected from the hall.
‘It was an incredible morning. We had our first visitors within minutes of unlocking the hall at 8.45am. By 10.15am we were completely cleaned out of trees. Thanks to everyone who came on the day, and apologies to all those who missed out.
‘Devon Wildlife Trust are looking to help organise another tree hub nearby in the autumn.’
