DJM Howe U16s

Tavistock Town 5

Manstow 5

TAVISTOCK raced into a 3-0 lead within 15 minutes with goals from James Young and Sam Turner (2).

Playing  with confidence, Tavistock created a number of chances to increase the lead before half time with quick one touch football which kept the more direct Manstow under severe pressure.

Manstow came more into the game, using their direct brand of football and were causing problems for the home side's defenders.

Two goals in quick succession put the visitors back in the game, but a brilliant long range effort from Charlie Gale restored Tavistock's advantage to two at the break.

The second half was a more even affair with Manstow's long ball approach causing more problems to the home back four.

A second goal from James Young just after the break seemed to put the initiative back with Tavistock, but an injury to Charlie Gale disrupted the flow of the midfield and Manstow continued with their direct approach to earn a point with the help of some inept defending from the home side.

Stoke Hill U16s 2

Okehampton Argyle U16s 5

STOKE Hill had the first chance and were unlucky not to score when their shot went wide.

For the next 15 minutes Argyle battled well and had some good chances. However, Stoke Hill were the first to score from a throw in.

Dennis had a lovely shot on goal only to see it tipped over the top by Stoke's keeper.

Argyle could not get the equaliser and they remained 1-0 down at half time.

The visitors started the second half well with Ausden knocking the ball onto Dennis who scored. Dennis scored Argyle's second from a good through ball from Boother.

Stoke Hill rallied and quickly made it 2-2 but Argyle upped their play and Ausden got on the score sheet with a well taken goal.

Argyle were not content to sit back and Dennis scored his hat-trick to make it 2-4.

Ausden and Dennis working well together to set Boother up to score Argyle's fifth with less than a minute to go.
