Tavistock Town U15s 2 Activate Youth U15s 7 WITH Activate needing nothing less than a win to try to secure the top spot in the league, Tavistock knew this would be a tough game, and it certainly was! Kelly had to clear for a corner in the first few minutes, which Activate slammed off and over the bar. Activate came forward again and this time scored from their corner. They were very dangerous on set piece play and two more goals went in soon after, but Tavistock pulled one back through Bray and almost made it two a minute later, but the keeper was able to block Lyle?s attempt at goal. Activate stretched their lead to 4-1 just before half-time. Things got worse when a McCall pass went astray and was pounced on by the opposition to make it 5-1 to Activate. Tavistock never gave up and Doyle had a great chance to pull another one back, but his strike went past the post and Activate went straight down to the other end and made it six. The highlight of the game for Tavistock came moments later when Andrew Smerdon scored a great header from a Lyle corner. This was Smerdon?s first goal for the team and put a few smiles back on the lads? faces. Activate slotted in another goal just before the final whistle. Man of the match: Sam Johnson.
