Cornish Guardian East Cornwall League Cup First Round Nanpean Rovers 1 Callington Town 2 CALLINGTON produced a storming late comeback to snatch victory over their hosts to progress to the last eight of the league cup. A fairly even first half was marked by two fine saves, one from each of the keepers. Town?s Adam Fuller denied Phil James with a great one handed save after 15 minutes while ten minutes later his opposite number did well to block a shot from Ashley Rowlands. The deadlock was broken on 56 minutes when Brian Paull unlocked the static Callington defence to find Colin Wilson who fired past Fuller. But Callington are made of stern stuff and equalised fifteen minutes from the end when Dave Henwood scored, and with just three minutes left Wayne Mouselli grabbed the winner to the delight of his team mates. Bodmin Trophies Duchy League Division Two Newmoor Rovers 2 Callington Town 3 PLAYING just three miles from their second team colleagues, Callington Town?s Duchy squad also produced a fine performance. They beat a tricky Newmoor side who do not lose many matches on their sloping pitch. An early strike from Rovers? Henry McGall was cancelled out by Captain Chris Canham in the first half. With just 10 minutes left of the second period, teenage striker Nathan Dore cleverly created room in the heart of the Newmoor defence before firing home. He made it 3-1 with a second two minutes later. Rovers got a second in the dying minutes but Town held on to get back onto winning ways.
