THE new consitution for Callington Town Football Club was ratified unanimously at the club?s annual meeting held on Sunday.
Andrew Long was elected chairman of the new executive committee with Arthur Hooper voted in as vice-chairman. Phil Brown will continue as secretary with Steve Bartlett as treasurer. Lee Rider was elected the development officer while the new commercial manager will be announced shortly.
Their first role was to select the management teams for the coming season. Ian Southcott, with his team of Geoff Battams and Brian Baker, was appointed to run the first team, while Garfield Ewing and Tim May were welcomed as the new Cornish Guardian East Cornwall Premier League management team.
Third team affairs will be run jointly by Sean Hartley and Tony Truscott until a permanent team manager is appointed.
The club held its dinner and presentation evening at Eagle House Hotel in Launceston. As well as picking up the supporters? player of the year cup for the Carlsberg side, Matt Hawke also won the players? player and manager?s player trophies, while Gavin West won the leading goalscorer?s award.
The final act of retiring second team manager Paul Blatchford was to award his manager?s player trophy to Matt Reid, and the experienced Town stalwart also won the players? player accolade. Chris Truscott again won the leading goalscorer trophy, to add to his 300- plus goals for the club.
The third team manager?s player and players? player award also went to one player, with Chris Canham winning, while young striker Ian Rooke won the leading goalscorer?s trophy.
There were two special awards, with Paul Blatchford receiving a gift from the club to thank him for his loyal service, and the clubman trophy going to Ian Southcott in recognition of his work.
Training starts on July 6 at the ground and continues each Tuesday and Thursday with pre-season friendlies being organised for late July and early August.
