I RECEIVED the Hunt Group publication entitled 'Okehampton Chronicle' on Saturday and am extremely concerned about the facts Mr Hunt is using to promote his business plan for a primary school in Okehampton.

I absolutely refute the claims that Okehampton Primary School is 'heavily oversubscribed' and that we 'turn many children away'.

Our net capacity for Reception to Year 6 is 593. At the moment we have 532 children on roll. We have only one class with 30 children in and all the rest have between 22 and 29.

We currently have 61 spaces.

Our new Reception September intake will be 82 children which is approximately 27 per class.

I would like to reassure Okehampton of these facts and welcome any questions or concerns raised to be directed to me via Okehampton Primary School.
