OKEHAMPTON hosted the mayor's civic dinner in the Charter Hall last Friday.

Cllr Michael Morse and mayoress Mary Morse welcomed guests from all over the county, including the mayor and Tavistock, Cllr David Whitcomb, Cllr John Hockridge, mayor of West Devon, Cllr Christine Marsh, chairman of Devon County Council and Mel Stride, MP for Central Devon.

Cllr Morse expressed thanks to all those who attended and particularly those who donated prizes for the charity raffle. They were Mole Avon, Phoenix Health Club, The Flower Pot, Ernie and Helen Cann, Derek and Margaret Woolacott, Cllr Tony Leech, Red Lion Bazaar, Cornish Jewellers, Cinnabar, Lifestyles, Kinderbox, Purple Penguin, Mrs F Luxton, Trudy's Hairdressers, Lisa at the Ceramic Café, Bean Feast, Martin's Butchers and several others who wish to remain anonymous.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by Brian Higbee, the floral decorations were made by Mrs Fletcher and her team and M and M Catering supplied the food.
