Tavistock Ladies 4

Totnes and Dartington 3

TOP played bottom in a seven goal thriller. Tavistock started with most of the play going down the wings with Donna Hone and Kirsty Jones.

All the hard work done by the wingers and the constant battling of Rachel Kelly saw chances go astray.

After 15 minutes Kelly and Jones linked up for the home side to put Blowey through who cooly slotted home. Totnes and Dartington equalised when a striker scored following a one on one with the keeper.

Tavistock's Becky Gordon used her speed to beat three defenders to put Tavistock back in the lead two minutes before half time.

The home girls came out fighting in the second half with the back four especially impressive. Donna Weeks soon put Tavistock further into the lead and it was not long before Hone and Kelly linked up to put Weeks through for her second.

However T and D didn't give up and on another one to one slotted the ball under an incoming Maloney made it 4-2. The visitors were then handed a penalty for handball from Shaw and this was put away by the T and D keeper to make it 4-3. In the last eight minutes Hammond excelled for Tavistock and challenged hard to win the ball and take it out of the danger zone.

Shaw, Crocker and Turner and Jo Webber fought for everything and the team played as a team and came out thoroughly deserved winners.
