Bude ladies seconds 0
Tavistock ladies firsts 2
ALTHOUGH one player short the away side took the game straight to Bude.
Quick passing between Tavistock's Armstrong and Colston allowed early attacks on the Bude's goal while Gaspar and Miller moved the ball around the 'D' to create chances for both Armstrong and McClumpha.
The Bude goalkeeper came out strongly to frustrate the visiting attack and when the home side did get out of their half the Tavistock defence of Mills-Hicks, Evans and Passmore did not allow any shots on goal. The first goal went to Tavistock, when McClumpha deftly flicked the ball over the keeper and into the net. This gave Tavistock even more confidence and Boulle and Colston pushed higher, distributing the ball well and cutting out many of Bude's attacks.
Tavistock's second was scored by Armstrong, who pulled the ball back from the back line to sweep it into the goal.
Bude were always quick to close down on the Tavistock players with the ball, but good stick work by the visitors allowed them to come away with the ball.
At the start of the second half Tavistock came close on many occasions but the Bude goalie managed to keep out all strikes.
Bude continued to try and break through and with Tavistock tiring the defence was put under pressure and Viggars in goal made some important clearances.
The away forwards dropped back to help keep a clean sheet, which they managed at the final whistle.
Tavistock were absolutely delighted with their win and performance. .
