Vivid Cup semi-final Tavistock Girls U14s 6 Saltash Girls U14s 0 DESPITE being without keeper Macguire (cup tied) and an injured Rose, the girls started well with good passing. Turner in goal commanded her defence well. Shaw and Glasspoole cleared up most attacks and Moody on the wing was so fast Saltash struggled to keep up. Superb keeping from the Saltash keeper kept Tavistock out, but the first goal came when a long range shot from Moody was tapped in by a running Eales. Saunders, playing centre mid, fed the wingers and battled away constantly to provide the feeder ball. Hammond latched on to one and coolly slotted home. Gordon joined play and provided speed and pressure up front but it was Moody who smashed the third home before half-time. The second half saw Saunders go in goal and release Turner. Glasspoole continued to bring the ball out. She hit one goalbound and a slight deflection saw the ball in the back of the net. Hammond was next on the scoresheet when she took a touch deep in her own half and lobbed the ball over the keeper from a tremendous distance. Last but not least was Turner who turned and twisted past the defence to slam the ball into the roof of the net and get the girls into their third cup final. Player of the match: Danni Moody.
