THE Band of the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary will be performing in Tavistock at the end of the summer to raise money for charity and Derriford Hospital.
The event will kick off with a march around the town before the band stops outside St Rumon's School to pick up top year pupils who, it is hoped, will perform the Floral Dance in Bedford Square.
'Once the dance is completed, the band will beat the retreat outside the town hall, with hopefully, the mayor of Tavistock taking the salute,' said organiser and band member PC Simon Dell.
Collectors will be carrying tins for Leukaemia Research and the Birch Ward at Derriford Hospital along the procession route and during the performance in the square.
All schools in the area are being invited to go along and swell the crowds.
The band will form up outside the Bedford Hotel at 2.45pm on Thursday, September 7.
