Penzance A 3
Tavistock B 1
RIGHT from the start Penzance pressed the Tavistock defence. A number of short corners came quickly and Penzance scored when Tavistock should have cleared their line.
But Tavistock stuck to their game plan with Edwards, Stanbury, Ball and Curno working hard in the middle trying to build attacks for the lone striker Reynolds.
Despite Lawrence Doobie doing a great man marking job another short corner saw the home side doubled their tally.
The second half saw a more confident Tavistock side start to take the game to Penzance with Edwards leading the way, driving Tavistock forward.
Tavistock forced their first short of the game and a strike on goal was cleared by the Penzance defence.
The game went end to end and Glanville, Roberts, Mason and Cowen defended heroically with one tremendous save by Osbourne low to his right even being applauded by the home side.
Penzance extended their lead to make it 3-0, but once more Tavistock continued to play neat hockey and a Penzance foot in the D, gave another short corner. A well drilled routine saw Reynolds pushed out short to Curno, who dragged into the D and powered a shot low to the keepers left post. Tavistock although beaten, held their heads high against newly promoted Penzance.
