A SQUAD of 17 players went to the Plymouth Albion ground at Brickfields, Plymouth on Wednesday, April 14 and took part in an invitational tournament to celebrate the visiting Sweet Chariot Tour and a chance to see the Webb Ellis Trophy.

Tavistock's first match against a strong Kingsbridge side was a very close fought battle with Tavistock having most of the possession.

Some excellent forward work and tackling brought Tavistock to within inches of causing an upset in this game.

Barnaby Frost's excellently worked try and the fine open play kicking from Jack Morgan were features of this hard contest.

Tavistock made heavy weather of this first meeting but an inspired run by Philip Snell from half way was taken over by Josh Stephens to open the scoring.

The inclusion of Charlie Hubbard and Chris Bringle in the second half galvanised the team with some strong piecing runs.

Jack Morgan scored with a fine solo run up the line.

Devonport Services won the tournament from Kingsbridge after a nail biting drop goal tiebreak.
