OKEHAMPTON, drawn in the same pool as the winners Ivybridge, had to play them first. But the boys played well with Mason Whittle, Scot Simpson and Ricci Cobb having the better of their opposite numbers in the forwards. The fast Ivybridge backs were given too much space and scored four tries.

Final score 20-0.

The second game against Teignmouth saw Ricci Cobb catch the ball to drive straight into the Teignmouth forwards and reach the halfway line. He popped the ball to Mason Whittle who ran in the try.

Okehampton then gave Teignmouth a soft try to level the score.

The young Okes tightened up defensive play with backs Will Heard, James Heard, Jake Chisholm, Richard Friend, Stuart Humphries and Simon Heard tackling superbly. Paul Russell and Paul de Lafontaine came on at half-time.

In the second half Okehampton moved the ball well between forwards and backs, Jake Chisholm drawing the defence and passing to Will Heard to run in the try.

Okehampton won 10-5.

The third game against Exeter Chiefs saw Okehampton gain in confidence after their win.

Exeter could not find any gaps in the Okehampton defence and were driven further back, eventually giving away a penalty seven metres out, Will Heard taking a quick tap and feeding Scot Simpson to crash over for a try.

Jake Chisholm, James Heard and Will Heard started finding gaps in the Chiefs' defence, James making a good break from just inside his own half then passing to Will Heard to score. Paul Russel came on at half time.

The second half was all Okehampton with Will Heard running in a good try from inside his own half. The tackling of Jake Chisholm allowed Okehampton to often pick up Exeter possession. Mason Whittle ran in the next try, followed by Jake Chisholm scoring the final one.

Final score 25-0.
