TEACHER of the Year Crispin Chambers will make a guest appearance in the Tavonians production of Calendar Girls this week at The Wharf.
Mr Chambers, head of Japanese at Tavistock College, was recently presented with a teaching 'Oscar', and named secondary school teacher of the year.
The Calendar Girls' script calls for some off-stage announcements in different languages, one of them being Japanese — so the Tavonians turned to Mr Chambers who happily accepted the role.
Calendar Girls is on at The Wharf until Saturday (November 16), but the final performance, which is a Charity Gala Night, is already sold out.
All performances will be raising funds for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research and the Gala Night is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and given in memory of Jeannie Waterworth who died last year and was the wife of the director of the play Stuart Waterworth.
