TEN free online tools to boost marketing, manage costs, and even exports will be among the new opportunities for businesses outlined by top speakers at a meeting in Tavistock hosted by West Devon Borough Council.
The Business Voice event on Thursday, November 14, is open to all local business and starts at 6pm with networking and a swop shop.
Following an introduction by Cllr Philip Sanders, leader of the council, Nadine Trout, West Devon's economy manager will bring local business up to speed on what features of the council's new website will assist their business.
Lisa Buckle, head of finance and audit will outline the council's draft budget proposals for 2014-2015 and lay out the financial pressures facing the authority.
A final presentation by Tony Edgcumbe, West Devon's corporate web editor, will outline the ten free business tools and explain software including PayPal, Mail Chimp, eBay, Social Media, Google Analytics, SEO, SERP, Cloud Services and Survey Monkey.
Cllr Sanders said: 'This meeting will provide West Devon businesses with an opportunity to consult with us over our spending proposals and share with us concerns on the key issues facing them.
'We are keen to get feedback from the whole business community and give them a greater voice in local government.
He added: 'We also hope the meeting will look ahead at some of the positive opportunities on the horizon and I would encourage local business people to come along for the evening.'
