TAVISTOCK Lions Club members were delighted with the response to their carnival photographic competition this year, with more than 60 excellent entries being received.

The overall winner was Bernard Carter from Bere Alston — he received a 16in x 20in canvas print of his photograph of a windmill at sunset, courtesy of Dartmoor Photographic in Tavistock.

The Lions will be running the competition again next year, when the categories will be 'The Natural World' for those aged 16 and under and 'Tavistock and Dartmoor from any angle' for the adult class. Details will be published in the Times around May next year, but now is the time to start thinking about what to photograph . . .
