WARD & Chowen held their first Collective Machinery and Implements sale at Tavistock Livestock Centre last Wednesday, when the top price was £840 for a Warwick 8 tonne silage trailer.

Over 250 lots came under the hammer, with a buoyant trade throughout, the auctioneers said, and with most lots being sold to local buyers.
Other notable prices were £560 for a cattle crush, £180 for a Mountfield 18" rotary grass mower, £150 for a lamb weigher and £100 for a Ransome five-furrow plough.
The auctioneers plan to hold a similar sale later in the year.
