A WEST Devon florist business is celebrating after being shortlisted for a major regional award — for the second year running.

Flowers Going Green of Horrabridge, owned and run by Nadia Taylor, has been shortlisted by the West Country Wedding Awards for wedding floristry for the second consecutive year.

The award for best West Country wedding flowers provider was judged on nominations submitted from recently married couples who used Nadia's business for their wedding flowers.

Judges chose the best six florists based on comments and feedback from genuine customers who were asked to score florists in a variety of areas including value for money, quality and customer service.

Flowers Going Green is one of only two florists in Devon to make the award finals and the only one in the West Devon region.

Nadia opened Flowers Going Green in late 2009 and despite the financial crisis, is successfully in to her fourth year of business.

During that time Nadia has developed her business to specialise in wedding flowers as well as offering flowers for any occasion.

Nadia said: 'The West Country Wedding Awards mean so much to any business who gets nominated, because they are judged on comments from actual customers who you have worked for.

'This award nomination recognises the hard work put in by all the team at Flowers Going Green and the level of dedicated service we offer all our customers.'

The accolade comes as the latest in a string of recognitions for Nadia and her shop which includes being voted as a top ten florist in the national Hitched breakthrough awards 2011 and being awarded second place in the regional heats for the Chelsea Flower Show 2012.

In addition, Flowers Going Green recently extended its commitment to the local community by taking on an apprentice under the government scheme to provide work-based training for young people locally.

The West Country Wedding Awards winner will be chosen from the list of six finalists.
