JAZZ enthusiasts are in for a treat this month, when stunning British trumpet player Bruce Adams makes a welcome visit to Tavistock.
Bruce will be appearing at the Ordulph Arms for a performance organised by the Tamar Valley Jazz Association.
Bruce, who was recently awarded a top prize at the British Jazz Awards, has had a successful and varied career playing with big bands and groups of varying sizes alongside many British and American musicians of note.
Bruce has travelled extensively to play at festivals all over the world and has undertaken many tours in Europe.
Ruth Desborough, secretary of TVJA, said: ?He has the ability to play blistering high notes as well as having a full and melodic sound, especially on flugelhorn ? anyone interested in jazz should not miss this exciting evening!?
For his Ordulph performance, Bruce will be accompanied by accomplished pianist Brian Dee, a prominent figure on the jazz scene since 1959.
He too has worked with many famous musicians of note but has developed a distinctive style all of his own.
Ruth said: ?His playing is inventive, stylish and swinging and Brian is well respected by his fellow musicians ? he has had an impressive career.?
She said TVJA will be providing a ?real? piano for this ?world class? player, who along with Bruce Adams has produced an extremely successful CD entitled All the Way.
The Adams-Dee duo will appear at the Ordulph Arms at 8pm on Friday January 24. Tickets are £8 ? £7 for TVJA members.
