TAVISTOCK?S annual dog show is going from strength to strength, according to this year?s judge who described the quality of dogs being exhibited as ?exceptionally good.?

The show is held in conjunction with the Tavistock Lions Family Fun Day in The Meadows and £360 was raised to be shared between Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and the Triangle Centre at Tavistock Hospital.

Judge Tony Madge from Maxworthy said the show was in a lovely location which helped to give it such a good atmosphere.

Dog show organisers expressed thanks to the Lions and to the many exhibitors for attending, the judges and all the ring stewards who helped.

Trophies were presented to the following winners: Miss S Clark (Holsworthy) with Balthazar (puppy), Mrs J LaCroix-O?Hara (Plymouth) with Choi (non-sporting), Ms L Hiscock (Plymouth) with Kelly (gundog and reserve best in show), Mrs G Ford (Liskeard) with Wenna (sporting), Mrs A Swain (Plymouth) with Aeryn (working/pastoral, best condition dog and best in show), Mr P Williams (Plymouth) with Storm (any variety), Mr M O?Hara (Plymouth) with Rob (best veteran), Lori Beresford (Princetown) with Harvey (best child handler, under 12), Roxanne Symons (Tavistock) with Flint (best child handler, under 16)

The novelty classes were won by Mr Elliott (Scotland) with Cassie (the dog most like its handler), Mrs Rendle (Plymouth) with Ellie (the best tail wagger), Miss Burch (Tavistock ) with Harvey (the dog with the most appealing eyes), Mr Hopkins (Plymouth) with Max (the most obedient dog), Mrs Shaddick (Plymouth) with Krystle (the best six legs.)
