AWARD-winning master-chef Peter Gorton will be at Book Stop in Tavistock this Saturday, serving up delicious nibbles and signing copies of his new book Devon Food Heroes.

The book, by Peter Gorton and photographer Adrian Oakes, sets out to introduce the reader to some of the county's best producers who are committed to providing food of the highest quality using environmentally-sound methods of production.

While many of these look back to traditional practices in growing food, they are also embracing new technology and up-to-the-minute science in ensuring their product is is healthy both to those who eat it and to the world in which we live.

From bakers and beekeepers to ice-cream makers and shell-fish farmers, each offers an insight into how a better food future can be achieved through innovation, determination and an overwhelming desire to produce delicious food of the highest quality.

To help prove this point, the book also contains recipes by Peter, using ingredients from the Devon Food Heroes created specially for this book.

Peter will be at Book Stop at 10.30am and 2.30pm this Saturday (May 26) to sign copies of the book.
