OKEHAMPTON ladies? hockey team the Columbines started the game off well against Riviera. Forwards Jess Miller, Abbi Colton, Becky Law and Hannah Whitely pushing the ball forwards towards Riviera?s defence. Debbi, Jane and Rachel worked hard to clear the ball to Sophie, who was able to score. Riviera pushed forwards and had several tries at goal, however Sophie Whitely managed to save most which enabled the back to clear the ball. Due to little mistakes Riviera were given several short corners, but Okehampton worked really hard and saved most. In the second half Okehampton played really well, with Sarah Jones making excellent tackles and clearing the ball forward. Unfortunately Riviera were strong and did not allow Okehampton any more shots at goal. Rachel Hammett was announced captain for the second team and man of the match was Sophie Whitely.
