LIVESTOCK will make a welcome return to Stoney Park Showfield today (Thursday) for this year?s Okehampton Show.

Movement restrictions following the foot and mouth epidemic meant there were no livestock classes at last year?s show, but this year cattle, sheep, pigs and goats will be back in the ring.

Horses are back in the main showfield, and the fur and feather classes introduced last year, which proved a big hit, are back by popular demand, as is a dog show.

The president of the 98th Okehampton Show is radio and TV personality and Jacobstowe resident Noel Edmonds.

Noel will have to dash off from the showground this afternoon to host the BBC Radio 2 drivetime show, standing in for Johnnie Walker.

Other attractions at the show include demonstrations from two working shire horses, brought to the show by Hatherleigh man Ben May, and tasty produce in the Devon Food Hall.

More than 200 trade stands will be on display at the show and the WI and craft sections are overflowing with entries.
