ANYONE looking to start getting their fruit and vegetable patch organised is invited to the National Trust's Cotehele and Tamar Grow Local's 'Graft, Sow and Grow' extravaganza.
The two-day event will take place on Saturday, March 3 and Sunday, March 4 from 11am to 4pm at Cotehele Quay.
Cotehele's orchard officer Chris Groves will be talking to local growers and giving workshops on how to get things growing. He said: 'Whether you're new to cultivating your own food or an old hand at it, there will be plenty to excite and inspire you at Graft, Sow and Grow. Come swap some seeds, exchange stories or let us show you how to graft your very own apple tree.'
There will be rootstock and scions for sale and, if these don't mean anything to you, then there will be experts on hand to explain it all.
Organisers have arranged for talks by guest speakers that include topics such as 'no dig methods' and 'moon gardening', as well as presentations on the art of both bee and poultry keeping.
Willow basket makers will be demonstrating the weaving of conical plant supports and gardening trugs, and local food producers will also be there for visitors to taste and purchase their goods.
Graft, Sow and Grow is a free event. For more information and details contact 01579 351346 or visit http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/cotehele">www.nationaltrust.org.uk/cotehele or http://www.tamargrow.org">www.tamargrow.org
