I AM sorry to have upset Mrs Turner (Letters, September 25) with my admitted rant of the previous week.
My intention was (and remains) to focus attention on the facts, which are that repeated studies by County Highways of traffic speeds in Whitchurch Road have failed to confirm the allegations of residents, based on unquantified perceptions.
These findings are a matter of public record, documented in reports to West Devon Highways Committee and its successor bodies (Partnership Committee and HATOC). I cited these as recently as October and November last year in support of my contentions. They are matters not of opinion, but of fact.
