HATHERLEIGH'S Island Park Party to raise money for the town's carnival experienced dry weather for the first time in its history — and plenty of partygoers came out to enjoy the atmosphere on Saturday.

There was live music from North Tawton band 'Stemroach', a barbecue, hog roast, amusements and duck races.

The 2010 carnival queen Claire Munn, and prince and princess Lily Bater and Joe Harnett were chosen and there was a children's disco, fairground rides and a bouncy castle.

The winners of the duck races were Ally Hill and Trevor Glover.
