Plymouth University Seconds 2 Tavistock Ladies Seconds 3 HAVING lost 5-2 at home to Plymouth University earlier in the season Tavistock travelled into Plymouth determined to avoid a double defeat. On a spring like day, however, Tavistock quickly found themselves two goals down and a second heavy defeat seamed likely - that is until just before half time when Georgie Killingbeck smacked in a goal that brought Tavistock back into the match. In the second half, and with Jenny Pollock pushing further up field, Tavistock started to chase down the game. Some great combinations down the left hand side of the pitch from Els Mill-Hicks and Elly Evans meant that Tavistock were able to apply considerable pressure. Eventually, after a string of short corners, Kate Eadie struck the ball into the back of the goal to level the match. Then both teams went out to win. In an end to end pulsating phase Plymouth exerted a huge amount of pressure and Tavistock goalkeeper Lizzy Tilley made a succession of superb saves to keep them in the game. In front of Lizzy, Bridget Passmore, Babs Horton and Ratty Stanyer were outstanding in defence. Up front Tavistock attacked with sparkling pace and Andrea Goodall helped to create a number of good chances. With both teams in deadlock, however, it was clearly going to take something quite special to win the match. That came when moving at pace Flo Huntington-Whiteley released Georgie Killingbeck down the right wing. Swiftly running wide down three quarters the length of the pitch, Georgie capped her determined run by driving the ball into the D for Kate Eddie to put away. Tavistock: Lizzy Tilley, Bridget Passmore, Babs Horton Ratty Stanyer, Jenny Pollock, Georgie Killingbeck, Kate Eadie, Flo Huntington-Whiteley, Els Mill-Hicks, Ellie Evans, Andrea Goodall.
