HURDWICK Golf Club held their annual Hurdwick Hundred competition in June and the event was blessed with two beautiful days of mid summer weather.

The competition is made up of three parts, individual medals of 18 holes, with full handicap allowance, on the Saturday and Sunday and a combined 36-hole total on the threequarter handicap.

Results were as follows: Day 1 — Division 1: 1, S West 86-20-66; 2, C Dicker 81-15-66; 3, A Bridgewater 68-01-67.

Division 2: 1, T Gale 87-22-65; 2, M Wilkinson 93-27-66; 3, A Wilson 89-23-66.

Day 2 — division 1: 1, T Hawkins 80-16-64; 2, R Backaller 81-17-64; 3, R Gallimore 81-13-68.

Division 2: 1, R White 94-22-72; 2, G Raikes 93-21-72; 3, P Brookbank 94-22-72.

Day 1 — Ladies: 1, V Raine 89-20-69; 2, E Raikes 97-28-69; 3. D Reardon 114-45-69.

Day 2 — Ladies: 1, A Samphier 100-38-62; 2, E Raikes 93-28-65; 3, V Raine 91-20-71.

Every division was very tightly contested with a number of places being decided by countback over the last 9 holes.,

The overall tankard winner on day 1 was Tim Gale with his net 65 and on day 2, Annette Samphier took the honours with an excellent net 62.

The 'Two's' sweep on day 1 was shared by Adam Bridgewater, Chris Dicker and Sue Wilson and on day 2 Kevin Pugh won outright.

Winner of the Hurdwick Hundred decanter for the best 36 holes was Tim Hawkins with a net total of 140. runners up were Roger Backaller with a net 142 and Vl Raine with a net 150.

The competition was followed by a barbecue during which the presentations were made by lady captain, Rosemary Rea.
