TIDY Tavi will be taking to the streets of Tavistock again for their monthly litter picking foray this Saturday.
The group is hoping for an especially good turnout of volunteers because of the amount of rubbish that has been blown out of nooks and crannies by the recent strong winds.
Items of rubbish such as plastic bags and sweet wrappers are not only unsightly but often exacerbate the effect of fallen leaves at this time of year in causing blocked drains and subsequent flooding.
A couple of hours out on Saturday morning with other like-minded folks and a litter picker can often make a big difference and is a really effective way to support your local community.
A spokesman for Tidy Tavi said: 'Why not join us at 9.50am outside The Wharf? We'll provide litter pickers, rubbish bags and hi-vis jackets. Just bring a good pair of gloves.'
