A LADIES' evening held in The Bedford Hotel's Gallery 26 last month proved a great success, raising £80 for Cancer Research UK.

The event, organised by Salon 77 in Tavistock, included various demonstrations during the evening — hair, makeup, beauty, fitness and weight loss as well as holistic therapies and permanent cosmetic treatments.

There were also lots of gorgeous shoes, bags, jewellery, clothes, lingerie and books, something for everyone to enjoy.

Daphne Smith of Salon 77 said: 'Judging by the response from the exhibitors we may hold another event in the spring. Everyone enjoyed the evening despite the atrocious weather. We hope this event raises the awareness of what's on offer from small businesses in the Tavistock area.'

Daphne thanked everyone involved in the event for their support, and the exhibitors for their donations to the raffle.
