MEMBERS of Milton Abbot Community Group (MACG) say they are delighted with the amount raised from their recent fifth annual Easter egg hunt.

The event was well supported and the children were entertained with face painting and a tea party, with a spring lamb visiting.

The festivities raised £172 which will go towards maintaining the play equipment in the village, which was put up last June, thanks to a large grant from Biffa Award and the support of West Devon Borough Council.

The play equipment has been extensively used by village children and has been a great success.

MACG expressed thanks to sponsors of the event SERCO for providing the Easter eggs for the hunt, Geoff Pithouse, who provided a caravan break as a top prize for the raffle, and to all the volunteers who make weekly safety inspections of the equipment.

MACG also expressed thanks to the other volunteers who get involved in arranging fundraising activities to help MACG meet the running costs which are more than £1,100 per year and include all the safety checks and insurance costs.

MACG upcoming events will be posted on http://www.macg.co.uk">www.macg.co.uk and include a Ceilidh, karaoke and Halloween disco.
