NO less than 20 children from the Jujitsu Tavistock Club took part in a grading examination, where the standard proved to be exceptionally high once again. Umberto Bergonzini, the club instructor, was extremely pleased by the performance and character demonstrated by the young students as they had a lot to learn and remember. He said: 'Jujitsu it is not just about kicking, punching and performing forms but also throwing your opponent to the ground, in a very similar style to Judo. 'Jujitsu, having one of the largest syllabus in the martial arts, helps the practitioners, especially the young ones, improve their learning, concentration and discipline.' The club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Scout Hall in Pixon Lane. Anyone interested in joining can contact Umberto on 07866 720361 or come to one of the classes.
