ANN Sidgreaves is very right, sadly (Letters, April 20). I dread walking into Tavistock, especially in school holidays, as I really do not want my eight month old to be subjected to the yobbish youths screaming the most disgusting abuse at each other from one end of town to the other. These poorly brought up undisciplined thugs give the town a bad image and are a very bad example to the younger children. The police are powerless, but a visible beat officer could only improve things, surely. G Sansom Address supplied ANN Sidgreaves (Letters April 20) is not being unreasonable. I also have to suffer the bonfire and the barking dog scenario, the bonfire of high-risk pollutants such as plastic and other non-biodegradables, irrespective of whether there is washing on the line or not. I empathise and sympathise and agree very much, a ?me? attitude prevails. Russell Northam-Palmer [email protected]">[email protected]
