READING many letters in the Times one notices so many negative reactions. I would like to express something positive for a change.
During the past few weeks I have noticed a young man going about his duties in the town with diligence and care and getting excellent results for his labour.
This young man is probably ignored by many and certainly not praised, I feel sure. I am now correcting just that.
The young man in question is the roadsweeper (he probably has a far more PC title than this, but so what?).
The road I have noticed in particular is Parkwood Road. I have never seen it so clean and tidy.
Too many of us take for granted the mundane jobs needed to keep this town a pleasant place in which to live and I think it is high time this changed.
Three cheers for this young man (I wish I knew his name) and the many others I'm sure doing similar tasks, who quietly do their jobs to make our living conditions pleasant.
Please give a thought when walking around and take care not to leave litter etc around.
