DJM Royal Oak U16's League Cup

Elm United 1

Tavistock Thistles 2

WITH only eight teams in this competition, this win takes Thistles in to the semi-finals.

Thistles took the lead midway through the first half when hesitant defending enabled Glenn Tremblett to head over the advancing Elm keeper.

Thistles dominated the remainder of the half and shortly before the interval doubled their lead when a Tremblett corner was headed in to his own goal by an Elm defender.

At the start of the second period Thistles survived a goalmouth scramble however Elm were not able to build on this. For the remainder of the match Thistles were much the better of the two teams. Despite controlling the game, they failed to take any more chances and were unable to increase their lead.

Elm scored late on with a good header from a corner. This set up a tense finale but  Thistles saw out the final minutes safely to clinch a deserved win and maintain their 100% start to the season.
