YMCA Kitto U15s 7

Tavistock Thistles U15s 2

THISTLES got off to a promising start, passing the ball freely with an air of confidence and after 10 minutes they were rewarded with a well worked goal scored by Yuri Costello.

YMCA Kitto were caught napping five minutes later when Jordan Seward's plucky attempt on goal was cleared off the line.

After 20 mins YMCA Kitto regained their composure and put a number of attacks together and their pressure was rewarded with three goals in a 10 minute period. However at 3-1 Thistles continued to press and George Dean scored a cracking goal from a set piece. However another goal soon after  for Kitto made it 4-2 at half time.

The second half saw YMCA Kitto repeatedly pressurising Thistles defence and without a sterling performance by goalkeeper Peter Bradley the game might have been lost. The constant pressure resulted in a penalty which the in form goalkeeper saved.

The Thistles defensive line-up of Tom Green, Benj Cullen, Carl Willis, Tom Calvert and Jordan Stacey had their hands full for most of the second half. Will Stenhouse, Dan Poole and Thistles player of the match Rhys Mellor Bond worked hard in midfield.

The final 10 minutes of the game saw YMCA Kitto mount another series of attacks which resulted in another three goals. Thistles fought and played well but were unable to sustain the tempo for the duration of the game.
