Devon & Exeter Intermediate 4
Okehampton Argyle 3rds 6
Seaton Town 3
ARGYLE were a little apprehensive on the new smaller temporary pitch. The lack of width could have easily stifled their wide game.
Seaton looked the sharper side from the kick off and were soon 1-0 up after sloppy defending by Argyle who were missing Eddy at the back.
It took Argyle a while to come back, Kinsey battled hard in attack and Spence took his chance well to level the score - the ball rebounded to him after Kinsey shot on goal.
Okehampton remained in control for the rest of the first half, scoring two more goals before half-time. Scorers were Kinsey from his own rebound and Evans who converted an excellent pass from Stepto.
Seaton made a few changes up front. Argyle failed to pick up the spare man. The change in tactics resulted in two more goals for Seaton which levelled the score at 3-3.
Argyle showed character and responded well. One of many excellent balls from Griffith found Kinsey who turned it inside to Evans who scored. An inspired substitution by the management saw Will Eddy return to the left wing. A competent triangle formed with Eddy, Monnox and Kinsey.
Eddy passed to Kinsey who scored from 40 yards with the outside of his boot. This was a contender for goal of the season.
Argyle?s final goal came when Griffiths scored from a well taken free kick.
Keeper Carter performed well in goal, particularly after receiving a kick to the face. He made at least five fine one-handed saves.
Man of the match: Phil Evans.
This week, Lapford away.
